Showcase Europe, Chengdu
Cultural Festival
Staged concurrently with the trade focused EU-China Partenariat and sharing one venue, Showcase Europe was planned in an effort to reach out to the general Chengdu public and give them a better understanding of European culture and of Europeans. As such, the Showcase included country information, performances, a brand show and a European food street.
Organizational tasks included, on behalf of the EU delegation ; negotiation with local authorities in Chengdu, conceptualization and programming, coordination of contents and set-up with the Member States of the EU, and supervision of the local implementation crew.
The event attained a visitor record of 150 000 over the 4 days duration, 95 staff manned the booths, and 42 artists were flown into Chengdu, assisted on stage by 10 stage-crew.
